About us

We have been travelling around Australia for the past 25 years or so and have finally decided to put pen to paper and include our recent trips on this site.

Starting with camping in tents, we then progressed to camper trailers. The first was a Trak Shak, followed by two different models of Kimberley Kamper. After camping in the rain for two weeks, we decided there must be something easier than canvas. We had Trackmaster build us a 14-foot single-axle off-road van.

After three years, we chose a Bushtracker, which is built on the Sunshine Coast. We are now the very proud owners of a 19′ custom-built van, which we collected in December 2008.

Our 19′ Bushtracker van is fully self-contained and includes the following options that enable us to travel and camp away from caravan parks: 4 x 125W solar panels, 4 x GRT AGM 100Ah maintenance-free batteries, 4 x 90-litre water tanks, a Dometic diesel heater, and a 190-litre fridge/freezer. All these features, including the 24″ LED TV and fully automatic Autosat satellite dish mounted on the roof, run on 12-volt power generated by the van. We also carry a Honda EU20i generator as a backup in case we face extended periods of rain or need to run our air conditioner on hot days or operate our water sterilisation system. This unit features double filtration canisters with a 0.2 micron rating, which then pass through a quartz tube with a 2600 – 2700 angstrom UV filter.

Suspension is simplicity tandem axle rated at 4000kg’s with larger bearing’s and axle’s for extended life.
